I want to begin my entry by sharing my reproductive journey which expanded my lens on women’s issues. Women experience phases during their reproductive years beginning with puberty, becoming sexually active, decisions about birth control, decisions about abortion, decisions about becoming pregnant, experiencing infertility and decisions about improving chances to become pregnant, mental health during each trimester of pregnancy, postpartum depression, mothering, child. care, experience of single mothers, decline in fertility, menopause.

My Story

My philosophy about women’s rights, women’s control of their bodies and reproductive decisions, inspired me to study women’s issues and mental health during my doctoral program. Feminism was the major focus. With all the positive change that has occurred since the hay day of global Feminism, women today face the same mental health challenges and threat to their voice and reproductive rights

Yet within those fears lies an extraordinary capacity for resilience. When children are supported with patience, encouragement, and understanding, they begin to discover their own fortitude and determination. Each challenge becomes an opportunity to build courage, confidence, emotional strength.

'Resilience does not mean the absence of fear; it means learning to move forward despite it. Through caring relationships and positive guidance, children can develop the inner strength to persevere, adapt, and believe in their ability to overcome life’s difficulties with hope and determination.
